Sick Day

Here are a few candid moments in the Kirton house today. McKayleigh stayed home from school because she was feeling a bit under the weather and we wanted to kill her cold before it escalated. She was to sit on the couch, her bed, or the futon for the day to recover. Ayden, of course, was by her side each minute. Very sweet little memories made with these pictures! I took McKayleigh in for a hearing test today and she had pretty low levels. She is scheduled for two surgeries Friday March 7 at the hospital here- one for her second set of ear tubes for drainage of the mass fluid in her middle ear, and also to get her adenoids removed. He feels that this can be causing a lot of the fluid issues she always has. She is also going to have some blood drawn to check her allergies- this saves her from the "fun" multitude of needle pricks you get on your arms and back to test allergies! It is a pretty long surgery and she will be under for about eighty minutes, which worries me- but she'll do well. Keep those prayers coming our way! Andrew has an appointment tomorrow at the Eaton plant closer to our house- so hopefully all will go well and he can cut his 150 mile a day drive down quite a bit!

A Family of International Artists!

The Kirtons are officially all a family of accomplished International Artists! I was accepted into the 10th Annual Faces International Online Juried Art Exhibition! All five of my pieces were chosen and I am very excited! It will be at www.upstreampeoplegallery.com worldwide beginning March 1 and running until February 28, 2009. It will be represented by a site that currently boasts over 800,000 hits a month! I was selected from the approximately 350 entries to date from various parts of the world. That makes Andrew, his mom (with her MANY frequent accepted pieces!), and me all on their various exhibitions! It really made me feel accomplished- I wasn't really thinking anything I did was that good, but I feel more confident to do more work now. Look for many more to come in the future from all of us!

Our first Ash Wednesday

We are very excited about our first Ash Wednesday as a family. Our church means so very much to us and we are so happy to have found a second home. We'll fill you in later on how our Lenten season is going. Peace be with you.

My Snow Angel

McKayleigh in the snow the morning after the big "storm". It is almost all melted around here- still some nice chunks and sad looking snowmen in the area. It was a fun and welcomed surprise... but we are happy to get out of the slushy stuff!

Ride Sally Ride!

McKayleigh on her bike WITHOUT TRAINING WHEELS! The second we took them off- she was gone! We took her out again to the tennis courts and she had it all figured out. Now she wants Daddy to buy her a new big girl bike!

Hooray for Santa!

The kids were overwhelmed with wonderful presents from both the North Pole and family! Ayden "smooching" his skateboard, opening more gifts, Daddy sleepily watching the kids, and the tater tots singing on their new karaoke machine from Grandma and Grandpa Richardson and Uncle Max! Definitely a popular gift for the two of them! Thanks to all that made this a very special day for the whole family!

Some pictures as they were hard at work opening their MANY gifts! One of McKayleigh's present from Grandma and Grandpa and one of Ayden getting his skateboard from Aunt Andrea, Uncle Steve, and the kids that he had been asking Santa for for weeeeeks!

Christmas Eve

Some pictures from Christmas Eve where the kids were mixing, cutting out, decorating, and eating cookies! They helped Daddy put together a gingerbread house that their godmother made for them to decorate, and decorated it Christmas Day while we waited for the turkey to finish cooking. The final shot is their goodies left from Santa- they did pretty well!

More photos of the Princess

Some more shots of the party today- we had a good turn out, more kids showed up a bit later in the day and we all had a ball with little screaming, giggling girls and lots of memories!
