McKayleigh's catch of the day! Here is why this picture is so funny to me...

Yesterday, while on a drive about town before we went out to dinner, we spotted a box turtle crossing the road. we stopped and snatched it up for McKayleigh to explore and decide a new safer habitat for him/her. The second those little claws touched her- she was done. We tried to talk her into just holding the sides, or the top and bottom so the claws couldn't reach her, but she had none of it! I told her to plop it on the floor of the car until we could pull over, but to grab hold of it so it didn't get Daddy while driving. She kept arguing that it was too strong for her and she couldn't hold it. :) We pulled over, placed it in a field, and went to dinner. Today- she finds crickets and bottles them up as though they were butterflies! Welcome to the adventures of our eight year old!

Hard Work Paid Off!

 

 

 

All of our sweat and tears paid off yesterday- look at our pool! Paisley approved, too!

Still waiting for the pool to fill up. McKayleigh decided to work on some sweet moves to pass the time.

We bought an amazing pool at the beginning of the year for the kids, set it up on the driveway... and were disappointed. Our driveway has a large slant to it- and so did our pool. We filled it as high as it could go and the results were ho-hum. Well... McKayleigh and I took the whole thing apart yesterday, moved it, and refilled it. A daunting task, but the results this morning were amazing!!!

The time has come for her first pair of shoes! She is wanting to explore all the places we visit and Mommy prefers for her to keep those tootsies she puts right back into her mouth clean! (Since I took these, she now has two pairs of shoes! The others are Robeez as well- but fuschia and with PAISLEYS on them!)
