Ayden's FAVORITE room! The Fire Department!!! A big truck and jackets, boots, and overalls with working sirens, bells, and lights! Dalmations all around helped the theme.
A peek at our family's many adventures together- hopefully a daily occurrence.
Some shots of the art room with Ayden mastering the scissors- or attempting to! Another few of the crawlspace Ayden discovered that had a blacklight in it to show rocks and how they glow. He thought this was the coolest- kept telling me his shirt was purple and he wasn't afraid in the dark! Hee hee. Then, one of Ayden enjoying the drums in the Alphabet room- geared towards little kids, but they liked it a lot. (Birth to 5- so found a bunch they liked!)
Some shots of McKayleigh as a news anchor, in the grocery store, building magnetic cars, and in the art room using shape punches. I liked the art room best- tons of markers, colored pencils, scissors, crayons, paints, stamps, magazines for collages, glue, and the like. The kids seemed to have this as a favorites, as well! We rushed off to the other rooms to make sure we could see it all in the two hours before it closed!
We found this little cave on our 3/4 mile expedition up the mountain to the falls. It was pretty cool to stand next to (and under!) this carved out spot. We imagined Natives hiding out under like we were to keep warm. At this point, it was a blistering 27*, which we thought was cold. That was until the Chimney Rock employees told us that the wind chill subtracted 15 more degrees!!! Yes, it was extremely cold and windy. Hiking and carrying the little one helped keep us much warmer.
