Welcome Mr. Winter

It looks alot colder than it really is. These pictures were taken during our long hike down from chimney rock (we opted to skip the elevator for the scenic route). It was hard on me and Am's knees. We both had to carry our lil 40lb packages down. Here are pictures that we took on our way back down.

Frozen Waterfalls!!!!!!

These are the frozen waterfalls. The pictures do not do them justice. It is awesome to hear them crackling and to see that the water is actually flowing through the middle of the ice. Occasionally you would hear a crack and a piece would fall. This definately is not Florida. It wasnt even that cold outside (in the 50's). The Kids thought this was really cool. Ayden kept talking about climbing the mountain.

Chimney Rock!!!!!! WOW

So todaywas such a beautiful day we decide to go down the street and look at chimney rock and see why people come from far away to see it. On our way into the entrance we noticed that the waterfalls were frozen on the side of the mountain. It was absolutely breathtaking. Here are a few shots of chimney rock, and the tunnel that goes into the mountain to the elevator. The elevator travels 29 stories in only 30 seconds, Thats like a whole 6 mph (hold-on). Posted by Picasa

Ahhhhh, Siblings...

I was attempting to take a picture of McKayleigh playing in the leaves in these. Ayden saw this, ran over, and inched into every shot. HAHAHA! Needless to say, his sister was not too pleased, but it was pretty funny!

Gotta love a pile of leaves and two beautiful kids to jump into them! (Ayden still has sword in hand, of course...)

Green Eggs and Ham

Our mini-ham. When I show up with the camera, he cheeses right away. A smile only a mother can love...

This is Ayden as a pirate. He shuts his right eye, grabs anything he can use for a sword, and says, "Arrrrrr, mateeeey!". SOOO FUNNY! Posted by Picasa

Our Artist

McKayleigh "painting", using crushed chalk from Christmas. She LOVES drawing, coloring, and painting. She used a few items from nature to decorate the other day.

We Start 'em Young

Here's a shot of Andrew showing Ayden the ropes on the motorcycle. He LOVES the bike and always wants to get on it- as long as it's not Andrew's 150 mph! Posted by Picasa
